How Long Does It Take for Semaglutide to Start Working for Weight Loss?

Everyone reacts to a new medication differently. Some people starting Semaglutide injection treatment may feel a loss of appetite very quickly, while for others it can take several weeks.

It's important to remember that Semaglutide injection is a prescription medicine, meaning that you'll need to follow the dosage period given to you by your assigned Freya Doctor.

Over the duration of the treatment, your assigned doctor will increase your dose until you reach your therapeutic dose (usually 8 weeks).

Dosage:

Starting dose: Start Semaglutide injection with a once-weekly 0.25 mg subcutaneous injection for 4 weeks. This will give your body a chance to adjust to the medicine and reduce the risk of side effects.

This dosage is intended for treatment initiation and isn't usually very effective for weightloss however taking a higher dosage initially will almost certainly bring on side effects and may lead to a very unpleasant experience if you are prone to the side effects. chronic nausea and vomiting on (semaglutide), which can cause dehydration and malnutrition if you can’t get enough calories or fluids daily,

Maintenance dose: The Semaglutide injection maintenance dose is 1mg once a week, although a small number of patients may find that 0.5mg suits them better. Find what’s best for you by discussing this with your prescriber.

Many people see great results during the first 8 weeks, however, it shouldn't be a fixed expectation. Instead, your prescriber would expect you to lose weight by 12 weeks into the full therapeutic dose.
