I’m Worried About Side Effects

There is a chance you may experience side effects while on semaglutide (Ozempic), this is normal and to be expected when taking any medication.

Because the medication delays gastric emptying, food remains in the stomach for a longer period – this can cause side effects in some patients including:

  • Reflux (10%)
  • Vomiting (16%)
  • Nausea (40%)
  • Diarrhoea (20%)
  • Constipation (19%)

The Good News:

These symptoms are largely experienced at the beginning of treatment and often subside as your body adjusts to the medication.

Other tips you may find useful to counteract the side effects of Semaglutide injection can include:

  • Go outdoors for a gentle walk and some fresh air — especially helps with nausea
  • Take a cold plunge, or swim in cool water
  • Avoid lying down after you eat
