I'm Starting to Get Hungry Again

The return of hunger you're experiencing can be a part of your body's adjustment to semaglutide, as it begins to integrate with your system and regulate your appetite and metabolic functions.

If you are not feeling the effects of reduced appetite on your current dosage without the presence of any uncomfortable side effects like nausea or vomiting you should increase your dosage by 0.25mg.

It’s very important to increase your dosage gradually until you find what works best for your body!

Until your next dose, here are a few recommendations for the meantime:

  • Stay Hydrated: Increased water intake can help manage feelings of hunger and is good for overall health (water with freshly squeezed lime is my favourite way to hydrate).
  • Fiber-Rich Foods: Incorporating more fiber-rich foods into your diet can increase satiety and help control hunger. Vegetables, whole grains, and legumes are excellent sources.
  • Protein Intake: Ensuring you're consuming adequate protein can also help keep you feeling full longer.
  • Meal Timing: Sometimes, adjusting the timing of your meals to have smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day can help manage hunger levels.

It's also important to give your body time to adjust to the medication. The effects on appetite suppression can become more pronounced as you continue with your treatment and your body adapts.
